The specific aims of this conference are,
To provide an educational outreach opportunity for conference faculty to present to Ethiopian medical school students and physicians.
To provide an outreach opportunity for conference faculty to meet with Ethiopian medical school leadership and lay the foundation for future collaborative educational projects

Update In Clinical Medicine

Aerudio, Inc., a US-based corporation, with a mission to connect those with knowledge to those who need it, and in so doing, expand the benefits of that knowledge to the broadest possible population, in resource limited countries.
Update in Clinical Medicine, a 2-day medical education conference, which took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on January 4 and 5, 2016. The target audience included Ethiopian medical professionals practicing locally with additional representation from the medical facilities currently in operation in Ethiopia. This conference provided state-of-the-art updates in various specialty areas of medicine important to the clinical practice of primary care providers, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Sub-specialty physicians were provided necessary information to keep current with advances in general medicine that may also be relevant to their practice. Mayo Clinic clinicians and scientists served as faculty for this conference.
Educational Plan
We designed a multicomponent program with the following objectives:
To provide a state-of-the-art update on a variety of clinical medicine topics to physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants conference delivered in Ethiopia
To provide a state-of-the-art update on a variety of clinical medicine topics to Ethiopian physicians
To provide an outreach opportunity for Ethiopian physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in the diaspora to contribute directly to the needs of Ethiopian medical education and healthcare
To provide an outreach opportunity for conference faculty to meet with Ethiopian medical school leadership and present to medical students to establish a foundation for future educational enrichment.

2015 African Engineering Deans Council Annual Conference

The African Engineering Deans Council (AEDC), in partnership with Global Engineering Deans Council, the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies, the United States National Academy of Engineering, and the Addis Ababa Institute of Technology held the 2015 African Engineering Deans Council Annual Conference at the Elily International hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, September 17-18, 2015. The Conference featured Deans of Engineering from throughout Africa, including decanal representation from Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania. In addition, the incoming Chairperson and the Executive Secretary of the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC), the new Chair and the Secretary General of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), representatives of the GEDC Executive Committee, Regional Deans from the Middle East and from the United States, and key representatives of the United States National Academy of Engineering, developing new initiatives in Africa, were in attendance

strategies for developing industry-academia collaborations and partnerships in Africa
lighting up Africa through renewable energy
upgrading engineering education in Africa by focusing curricula on African grand challenges.
The United States National Academy of Engineering has also requested time at the Conference to hold a session focused on the Frontiers of Engineering and possibly the Grand Challenges of Africa. This will integrate well with the thematic foci of the Conference.
The Conference organized and coordinated the attendance and engagement of Engineering Deans in Africa and others, as well as the active engagement of corporations who utilize engineering talent, particularly those with strong interest in the African continent.
